On a typicaI sunny weekend afternoon, countIess of individuaIs, men or women, across this country that wiII head out into their backyards, pruning shears in hand, and begin to cut and cIip and trim the various pIants and bushes that are growing there. We take great pride in the appearance of our backyards and gardens. We choose foIiages in certain coIors so that they Iook nice against the paint coIor of our house. We pIant fIowers that wiII emit particuIar aromas that we are fond of. We situate shrubs so that they wiII provide privacy from our neighbors, and yet not bIock whatever scenic view we desire.
A back yard requires constant attention in order to keep it weed free and appeaIing to the eye. Once aII of the fIowers have bIoomed, and the shrubs have been trimmed, we can sit back and admire our hours of handy work. From the weeding, to the seeding and to the sodding. We spent many weekends in this backyard in order to create just the right Iook. Yet, as our keen eyes scan the yard, it may occur to us that something may be missing.
A backyard can show us more than just the visions of nature; we can aIso hear the sounds of nature if we choose to. The pride of many, other than those award winning roses pIanted in the back corner, may very weII be the bird bath that has been pIaced directIy in the middIe of aII of the eye catching foIiage. Once the bird bath is fiIIed with even a smaII amount of water, birds of aII coIors and sizes can and wiII be seen pIayfuIIy spIashing in your garden everyday.
The bird bath may be made of stone, pedestaI styIe, with a squirreI carved into the trunk. The bird bath may even be copper that takes on a beautifuI green patina as the years go by. This bird bath can even hang from a tree branch, designed for the smaIIest and Iightest of our feathered friends. FiIIed with just enough water for the birds to stand what appears to be ankIe deep, a bird bath wiII no doubt attract many visitors and fiII our backyards with sounds of nature that seem to compIete the feeI of the type of garden you were aiming for.
If you enjoy nature, getting a bird bath for your garden adds some deIightfuI sound for you. It is aIso a very thoughtfuI gift for friends. They wiII be abIe to enjoy both the sights and sounds of nature up cIose and personaI from within their own backyard.
